8th grade Art is Thursday, 11-1-12. Please note.....

All 8th grade students have 2 art assignments due tomorrow. They are 2 entries in the "altered book" we have been working on. One assignment is a Halloween entry (double page). The second one is a Fall entry (double page). This was a homework assignment give at the beginning of October, due 11-1-12.

I also have several students that have not brought in their fabric (5/8 yard cotton or cotton blend....no fleece please) and thread (matching). Please be sure that your student has those items as well, if they were not previously sent in. They were due last Friday, the 26th.

This project is quite involved since the paintings are painted in the reverse, details first, on the back side of the glass!

"Keep one eye open...our glass paintings are bright!", says Liam W.

"It was different than any other project we have done", commented Abby C.

ONCE AGAIN, WE ARE HAVING A SHORT WEEK. SOME CLASSES WILL ONLY HAVE ART ONCE THIS WEEK. ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL GRADES, 4 GLEN, 3 RAY, 2 HILL, 1 CATTON, AND KINDERGARTEN HACKER ARE INCLUDED!

KINDERGARTEN- K-HACKER WILL BE MAKING A GIANT CANDY CORN AND USING WRITING IN ART. K-CATTON WILL BE MAKING A MOSAIC PUMPKIN.

1^ST GRADE- BLACK CATS ARE THE PROJECT OF THE WEEK!

2^ND GRADE- BOTH 2^ND GRADES WILL BE STARTING A SCARY HAUNTED HOUSE!

3^RD GRADE- STUDENTS ARE WORKING ON INDIAN CORN SOFT SCULPTURES.

4^TH GRADE- DAY OF THE DEAD CELEBRATION COLLAGE SHOULD BE FINISHED AND WE WILL BE STARTING CRAFT STICK BOXES WITH LIDS.

5^TH GRADE- DAY OF THE DEAD REVERSE GLASS PAINTINGS ARE FAST COMING TO COMPLETION….MAYBE THIS WEEK!

6^TH GRADE- CLASS ON THURSDAY. WE ARE WORKING ON A UNIT ABOUT STAINED GLASS AND STARTING ON A TISSUE PAPER PROJECT!

7^TH GRADE- CLASS ON TUESDAY. WE ARE WORKING ON ABSTRACT SCULPTURES…THEY ARE LOOKING SUPER!

8^TH GRADE- CLASS ON FRIDAY. SEWING SUPPLIES ARE DUE ON FRIDAY, THE 26^TH. (5/8 YARD FABRIC- COTTON, SMALL SPOOL OF MATCHING THREAD, AND 20-30 OUNCE BAG OF POLYFIBER FILL {KEEP STUFFING AT HOME UNTIL NEEDED}). WE ARE STARTING MINI PILLOWS FRIDAY AND WILL QUICKLY MOVE TO FULL SIZE PILLOWS WHEN WE LEARN TO TIE KNOTS, THREAD NEEDLES, SEW ON A BUTTON, AND SEW BOTH STRAIGHT AND OVERCAST STITCHES.

3^RD GRADE- DAY OF THE DEAD SKULL DRAWINGS IN OIL PASTELS
