Art and Ambassador Agenda For March 3-7, 2014

I am still collecting rectangle shaped baby food containers (plastic with lids), butter type dishes, yarn and fabric scraps, and misc. art supplies (your left overs!). 

Due to ISTEP, art classes are changed this week. Some classes only come to art once and Middle School has no art at all.


Grade K- Mosaic Crosses
Grade 1- Shamrocks
Grade 2- Aboriginal Handprints and Jesus Portraits
Grade 3- Michelangelo Drawings
Grade 4- Gold shell Crosses
Grade 5- Quilled Shamrocks
Grade 6- No art
Grade 7- No Art
Grade 8- No art

Each day Middle School students that are in General Music will start the day in the gym with Mr. Branigan and myself for stretches and moving activities. All Choir and Band students will do likewise in the Cafe’ with Mrs. Simms and Mr. Glowinski.


There will be no Ambassador meeting this week due to Ash Wednesday Masses.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents that have donated to the art room’s recycle program. I am still collecting rectangle shaped baby food containers (plastic with lids), butter type dishes, yarn and fabric scraps, and misc. art supplies (your left overs!). Feel free to send any clean, reusable items with your child to the art room. Thanks again for all the past donations.

Grade 1- Indiana Connection- Raggedy Ann and Andy Unit.
Grade 2- Matisse DVD and start of Matisse unit.
Grade 3- Rene Magritte, Surrealist Artist  (new Unit) Magritte’s Birds and Michelangelo DVD.
Grade 4- Olympic Theme- Russian Architecture (Onion Top Buildings)

Any 8th grade student that has not brought in their Poly fiberfill for pillows needs to bring in in this week. Many students “borrowed” from art room stock and need to replace the filling they used.

Ambassadors will be meeting on Wednesday, February 12th, in the art room, at 7:40. Due to last week’s snow day, Ambassadors are working on the third lesson on Respect and will be teaching after Mass Wednesday.
